Review: Rule by Jay Crownover

Synopsis:
Shaw Landon loved Rule Archer from the moment she laid eyes on him. Rule is everything a straight--A pre-med student like Shaw shouldn’t want--and the only person she’s never tried to please. She isn’t afraid of his scary piercings and tattoos or his wild attitude. Though she knows that Rule is wrong for her, her heart just won’t listen.
To a rebel like Rule Archer, Shaw Landon is a stuck-up, perfect princess-and his dead twin brother’s girl. She lives by other people’s rules; he makes his own. He doesn’t have time for a good girl like Shaw-even if she’s the only one who can see the person he truly is.
But a short skirt, too many birthday cocktails, and spilled secrets lead to a night neither can forget. Now, Shaw and Rule have to figure out how a girl like her and a guy like him are supposed to be together without destroying their love . . . or each other.

Rating: 5/5 FANTASTIC STARS!!

Genre: New Adult /  Contemporary Romance

Review:
Remy (Rule's twin), had brought her home and took her under his wing after she had a hard time making friends at the young age of 13. Needless to say, Shaw Landon has been apart of the Archer family since she could remember!  However, several years later, Remy was involved in a tragic accident, which left Shaw best friendless, and Rule without his twin brother. Remy's parents have given her the unconditional love that she never received from her own parents and Rome became the loving older brother that she never had. Remy's death had shattered the Archer family, but Shaw did not want to give up on them and was determined to try and fix everything - which included dragging Rule every Sunday back to their hometown to have breakfast with his parents.  Oh, and did I mention it also included her dragging him away from every one night stand too? Yeah... EVERY Sunday! Even though Rule thought she was a stuck up rich kid and nothing more, Shaw had always loved Rule - only he had no idea. Everyone thought that Shaw was Remy's girl, and that was that. However, things start to change after her 20th birthday. -  How's that for a crazy story line!!!
 ANYWAYS.
CAN I JUST SAY THAT I LOVED THIS BOOK!? Yes, all caps was needed.
One of the things that I loved was how the characters were relatable. You see two different characters grow and learn how to truly be themselves and overcome a lot of obstacles that they face. It was so easy for me to get wrapped up in these two as a whole, but I also cared for them individually too. I usually find myself really annoyed with at least one of the characters in a book because they tend to be either very needy and repetitive and it was really refreshing to read about two that could actually hold their own weight.
While I loved Shaw Landon... I couldn't help but keep my focus on Rule!! His character was SO sexy!! The beginning of the book, I wanted to smack him around a bit because he seemed like so much of an asshole, but the boy has so many inner demons he needs to work out! He's covered in super hot tattoos, has super hot piercings, has a crazy sense of style, and strives so much to stand out and be his own person. He may seem careless, but he's downright protective and won't let anything stand in his way when it comes to the people he loves.

Oh... and we can safely assume that he knows what he's doing but some of those scenes you read... hot damn!

Yeah, you can say Rule stole my attention during the book... but there's also so many others that you fall in love with too! You're introduced to Nash, Jet, and Rome - which are other books Jay Crownover has! After reading Rule, I just can't wait to read the rest of the Marked Men series!
Please note the fact that YOU WILL need to take a cold shower before, during and after you read this book because it is HOT HOT HOT.
