I'm sorry for this mess!!! This will (HOPEFULLY) be up and running by the middle of April

Marie Lu and my Villain Squad! + ARC GIVEAWAY!!

(Instagram: Ohthebookfeels)

In celebration of Marie Lu's book THE YOUNG ELITES that came out in paperback August 25th, I was invited to share the word about the second book in this amazing series: THE ROSE SOCIETY, that releases October 13th of this year!
(Read the synopsis for both books, including the pre-order link for THE ROSE SOCIETY, and a giveaway to win an ARC!)

Heroes are great, right? They save the world over and over again. Some remained unknown, keep the peace etc. But something I've noticed is that heroes aren't the ones who has been getting all the lately.  Who, might you ask? Villains, of course!

By villains, I don't necessarily mean someone who is out to destroy the whole world just for the hell of it - I mean someone who goes against all odds to fight for something they think is right, and goes through hell and back to fight for what they believe in (for example, Katniss from THE HUNGER GAMES series and Celaena Sardothien from THRONE OF GLASS series).

With that said, I am creating my very own Villain SuperSquad!

Here's who would be in my Villain SuperSquad!

Myself (Carmen) and my boyfriend (Corey)!
My name would be "Frost" and I was able to manipulate water, ice, and wind!
(You can see my villain badge in the top photo of this post!)
My boyfriend would be named "Flare" and was able to manipulate air and fire!
*For Halloween last year, my boyfriend and I came up with out own superhero (or villain) costumes! They both took countless of hours to make and we were pretty proud of the finished result!*

Celaena Sardothien from the Throne of Glass series
She is SUCH a strong and independent person. She's quick on her feet! Super aware of her surroundings... I can't say too much more without revealing any spoilers, but those who have read the series... You feel me!!!

Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games series
Because who wouldn't want The Mockingjay in their squad?

Mare Barrow from Red Queen series
This one is pretty self explanatory. Such a head strong female lead! A whole kingdom is afraid of this girl. Not to mention those powers!

Isabelle Lightwood from The Mortal Instruments Series
I love a girl with an attitude... And boy does she have one! She's mastered fighting and heels' and with her electrum whip, nothing will stop her!

Daemon Black from The Lux series
Oh, Daemon! The name alone should be enough.. But this man could light up the world. Literally. And, he's out of this world. (See what I did there?)

Okay, I could go on and on, and just keep adding to my supervillain squad... But i shall stop myself!

Who would be in YOUR supervillain squad?

I am tired of being used, hurt, and cast aside.

Adelina Amouteru is a survivor of the blood fever. A decade ago, the deadly illness swept through her nation. Most of the infected perished, while many of the children who survived were left with strange markings. Adelina’s black hair turned silver, her lashes went pale, and now she has only a jagged scar where her left eye once was. Her cruel father believes she is a malfetto, an abomination, ruining their family’s good name and standing in the way of their fortune. But some of the fever’s survivors are rumored to possess more than just scars—they are believed to have mysterious and powerful gifts, and though their identities remain secret, they have come to be called the Young Elites.

Teren Santoro works for the king. As Leader of the Inquisition Axis, it is his job to seek out the Young Elites, to destroy them before they destroy the nation. He believes the Young Elites to be dangerous and vengeful, but it’s Teren who may possess the darkest secret of all.

Enzo Valenciano is a member of the Dagger Society. This secret sect of Young Elites seeks out others like them before the Inquisition Axis can. But when the Daggers find Adelina, they discover someone with powers like they’ve never seen.

Adelina wants to believe Enzo is on her side, and that Teren is the true enemy. But the lives of these three will collide in unexpected ways, as each fights a very different and personal battle. But of one thing they are all certain: Adelina has abilities that shouldn’t belong in this world. A vengeful blackness in her heart. And a desire to destroy all who dare to cross her.

It is my turn to use. My turn to hurt.
Once upon a time, a girl had a father, a prince, a society of friends. Then they betrayed her, and she destroyed them all.

Adelina Amouteru’s heart has suffered at the hands of both family and friends, turning her down the bitter path of revenge. Now known and feared as the White Wolf, she and her sister flee Kenettra to find other Young Elites in the hopes of building her own army of allies. Her goal: to strike down the Inquisition Axis, the white-cloaked soldiers that murdered her love, the Crown Prince Enzo Valenciano.

But Adelina is no heroine. Her powers, fed only by fear and hate, have started to grow beyond her control. She does not trust her newfound Elite friends. Teren Santoro, leader of the Inquisition, wants her dead. And her former friends, Raffaele and the Dagger Society, want to stop her thirst for vengeance. Adelina struggles to cling to the good within her. But how can someone be good, when her very existence depends on darkness?
